In Back-of-the-Book Blurb
Friday # 9 from Sioux's Page, Sioux offers this challenge.
She
posts a picture and you need to imagine it as a graphic for a book. You choose
the genre and book title, and then write a blurb that might appear on the back
of the book.
·
The blurb should be 150
words or less (not including the title).
·
The genre is wide-open.
·
Each blogger should
include their blurb on their own blog, and link back to this post.
·
Have fun with it. Go to
the other posts and comment on the other blurbs.
·
You can do fancy techy
things with the photo.
(Join in
if you dare...! It sounds like fun! I think this would be a lot of fun to do
with students especially since they would be expected to write 150 words or
less!)
The Unexpected Guest
Morris
was home alone and his humans had gone out for dinner. He loved when they were
gone because he could explore to his heart’s content. They had put up the
Christmas tree but they hadn’t finished wrapping the presents. He could bat at
the tinsel without being yelled at and he could play in the empty bags without
them knowing it. So, he got in several bags to see how he liked them. Then he
picked one and was trying to find a comfortable spot when he heard a noise. The
living room window slowly opened. He saw the human head stick in the room
looking around to see if anyone was there. Morris peeked out of the bag and was
so surprised to see who was coming in the window! It wasn’t Santa! Join Morris
and seeing who the unexpected guest was! (144 words)

Pat--This might make a great children's book. I'd love to see how Morris and Santa get along. Thanks for playing along.
This story sounds really sweet and fun. Nice job. Sorry it took me so long to get here!
