Photo A Day Project - January

This year I work on the Photo a Day Project. It really helps me take better photos because I’m taking more photos and looking at different perspectives. I also look at other people’s photos and see what pictures I liked. Then I try to figure out what appealed to me about their photos. Once I know that, I try to apply that knowledge to my own photos. Here are the pictures that I took in January.

Scrapbook Pages from June 2023

Digital scrapbooking is a great activity to use in the classroom. It can be used to capture memories, share important information, or focus on a specific event. This would be a great alternate activity for book reports and even group projects. Here are some examples that I made in June. I use the website Gingerscraps for ideas and even free digital kits.

February 2023 Photo A Day Project

I enjoyed taking photos in January and picking my favorite one each day. This would be a fun activity for students. I post these on Flickr and share them with a group. Then they are able to comment on my photos and I also can look at their photos. This is helping me take better pictures.

Here are my photos from February:

2023 Photo A Day Project

This year I’m participating again in the Flickr Photo a Day project. I think this helps me look at my photos more critically when I’m trying to choose the best picture of the day. I also think it helps me to look at photos that other people submit online.

I think this would be a great project to do with students. They could do a photo a day for a week or a month and share their photos with their classmates. They can explain why they chose the photo for that day and they can also tell why they like someone else’s photos.

Do you do this project in your classroom? Please share.

Photo a Day Progress

I forgot in January and February to share my progress with the Photo a Day project. I have been enjoying it this year. It makes me pay attention to the world around me and I look for special interesting subjects for my daily photo. I’m also working on creating a title for each photo. Here are snapshots of each month that I’ve completed so far.

This would be a great project to do with this students. You don’t need to to do a year long project. It could be one week or one month for them. I think they would enjoy looking at each other’s photos.

I’ve really enjoyed taking photos and looking at the photos that others have taken.

This would be a great activity for students to do for the week or the month. The photos could be used as story prompts.

Photo a Day Project 2019

I submitted one photo each day during 2019 on Flickr. I really enjoyed the project but it takes a big commitment to upload a photo each day. I’m glad I only do this every other year but I feel it has helped me take better photos. I have a big problem with composition and I enjoyed seeing other people’s photos for inspiration.  I want to share the photos that I took each month’s photos with you.
