Labor Day 2016

Labor Day is a public holiday held in honor of working people and is always held on the first Monday in September. Many people have barbecues on that day and many festivals and state fairs happen this weekend. When I was growing up in New York, Labor Day signaled the end of summer and the beginning of school again. Now that I live in the south, most schools start back in August so Labor Day is a nice respite from the chaos of the beginning of school.

Whatever you do today, I hope you have a safe and happy holiday!
