From Sioux's Page, Sioux
offers this challenge.
She
posts a picture and you need to imagine it as a graphic for a book. You choose
the genre and book title, and then write a blurb that might appear on the back
of the book.
·
The blurb should be 150
words or less (not including the title).
·
The genre is wide-open.
·
Each blogger should
include their blurb on their own blog, and link back to this post.
·
Have fun with it. Go to
the other posts and comment on the other blurbs.
·
You can do fancy techy
things with the photo.
(Join in
if you dare...! It sounds like fun! I think this would be a lot of fun to do
with students especially since they would be expected to write 150 words or
less!)
The Houseguest
Jed told
her that she couldn’t bring home any more animals. She knew that the 20 animals
already residing at their home was a little overwhelming but they were only
staying until she could find them a good home. She was a magnet for a homeless
animal and they seemed to always gravitate to her. How could she turn away a
sweet animal who needed a home? But this time, he was going to flip! When she
brought home the last one, he put his foot down and said, “Enough was enough!”
But surely he would understand that she had no other choice. Actually, he had
said, “No more dogs or cats or rodents or birds!” Maybe this time, their new
friend would bond with Jed and he would let it stay. Read on to find out who
their new houseguest was and how Jed reacted to it. (148 words)
