Yes - your post is a great one!

The whole idea of preparing for a substitute is lost on many people. I worked as a sub for 2 years while doing my MA and knew that I'd be walking into classrooms without any plans waiting for me so I had my own. Luckily I was working at a small school where I had already been teaching for 4 years, so I knew the students and the programs.

Kids groaned when they saw me coming because they knew they'd have to actually work as opposed to the 'free period' that having a sub usually entailed :)
