Here are some interesting sites that I’ve found this week, thanks to my PLN. As a teacher, I feel we have to keep up to date concerning research in our field and current issues in the education system. I hope some of these inspire you, inform you, and even have you asking questions. Thank you for coming by and visiting!

I’m Determined – “you will find a series of documents (assessments and checklists) to assist educators in making decisions regarding self-determination practices in the classroom or school.” (L:T; SA:SN, C)
Good News Network – “Since 1997, people have turned to the Good News Network® as an antidote to the barrage of negativity experienced in the mainstream media. Because of its long history, staying power, and public trust, GNN has remained #1 on Google. From its beginnings, the website has been a clearinghouse for the gathering and dissemination of positive news stories from around the globe, confirming what people already know — that good news itself is not in short supply; the broadcasting of it is.” (L:G; SA:A)
Wire Cutter – “Wirecutter is a list of the best gear and gadgets for people who want to save the time and stress of figuring out what to buy. Whatever sort of thing you need—tableware or TV or air purifier—we make shopping for it easy by telling you the best one to get.” (L:G; SA:A)
Current Events – “Teaching current events provides a particular challenge in the history classroom. The most readily available sources - news articles - are geared toward recent events and do not provide the long-term historical view necessary for students to understand why an event unfolds the way it does, and how it relates to their history class. Current Context helps students understand today by putting current events in their appropriate historical context. Each report includes a background, a timeline of significant events, a map, & links to useful resources.” (L:H; SA:SS)
Google Spotlight Stories - virtual reality; “Google Spotlight Stories means storytelling for VR. We are artists and technologists making immersive stories for mobile 360, mobile VR and room-scale VR headsets, and building the innovative tech that makes it possible. Enjoy the experience - look, listen, explore – and never worry that you'll miss anything.” (L:G; SA:A)
