Letting Your Light Shine

When Clemson won the National Championship football game, Dabo Swinney said,

"Let the Light inside you shine brighter than the light that shines on you."

I think this pertains to many people but especially teachers. There are so many teachers in the world who are making the world a brighter place for their students! By doing this, they are impacting the world, one student at a time.

Many teachers do so many things for students without ever getting a light shone on them.

Too many times, the multitude of little things that great teachers do get overshadowed by the small number of terrible things that awful teachers do. The media gets more attention for the negative things than the positive things. In fact, the light shines on the negative more often than the positive.

I would love to recognize the teachers who are doing the positive here on my blog. So, if you know of a teacher who deserves this recognition, please send their name and contact information to successfulteaching (at) gmail (dot)com. I would love to know more about them and the things they do so I can share it with others.
