Useful Information In and Out of the Classroom 6/14/13

As a teacher, I feel we have to keep up to date concerning research in our field and current issues in the education system. ReadWorks - “ReadWorks was founded in 2008 to help teachers meet the nationwide crisis in reading comprehension. We help teachers improve their effectiveness through research-based, classroom-proven practices and curriculum. ReadWorks is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. Career Sighted - “ watch 3-minute videos about real people who truly love their careers!” (L:G ; SA:C)

Celestia - The free space simulation that lets you explore our universe in three dimensions. Celestia runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. (L:G; SA: S)

Exam Time - Great resource to help students study. (L: G; SA: A)

Wonderville - “Boost reading and language skills for kids K-5” (L:E; SA:LA)
