Labor Day 2019

Today is Labor Day! It is a national holiday in the United States and is always celebrated on the first Monday of September. It celebrates the American Labor Movement and the contributions that workers have made to better our country.  It became a federal holiday in 1897.

Labor Day also marks the unofficial end of summer. I remember when I lived in New York and we started back to school after Labor Day.

Many people celebrate Labor Day with cookouts and pool parties.

If you are celebrating Labor Day, I hope that you have a safe and fun holiday!
