Back of the Book Blurb #3 Challenge

In Back-of-the-Book Blurb Friday # 3 from Sioux's Page, Sioux offers this challenge.

She posts a picture and you need to imagine it as a graphic for a book. You choose the genre and book title, and then write a blurb that might appear on the back of the book.

·                The blurb should be 150 words or less (not including the title).
·                The genre is wide-open.
·                Each blogger should include their blurb on their own blog, and link back to this post.
·                Have fun with it. Go to the other posts and comment on the other blurbs.
·                You can do fancy techy things with the photo.

(Join in if you dare...! It sounds like fun! I think this would be a lot of fun to do with students especially since they would be expected to write 150 words or less!)

A Brand New Chapter

After graduating high school, they wanted a new adventure! Emily and Phoebe decided they wanted to go on a long distance hike. Doing tons of research and talking to a lot of people who have completed long distance hikes, they decided on their hike of a lifetime. Before starting out, they met at the trailhead and looked at what was in store for them. They decided to share their hopes and dreams for the coming year, the future in 5 years and the future in 10 years with each other. Wouldn’t it be great to bury a time capsule full of these dreams and to come back in 10 years to see how far they have gone! Follow Emily and Phoebe as they begin a new chapter in their lives. Is this great training for their futures? See what challenges they face and how they overcome them. (147 words)

A time capsule? Pat, you have such an eye... You're always looking at things in a unique, refreshing way.

As always, thanks for playing. I agree. I think this exercise would be great to do with students. Succinctness is next to godliness... ;)
