In Back-of-the-Book Blurb
Friday #2 from Sioux's Page,
Sioux offers this
challenge.
She posts
a picture and you need to imagine it as a graphic for a book. You choose the
genre and book title, and then write a blurb that might appear on the back of the book.
·
The blurb should be 150
words or less (not including the title).
·
The genre is wide-open.
·
Each blogger should
include their blurb on their own blog, and link back to this post.
·
Have fun with it. Go to
the other posts and comment on the other blurbs.
·
You can do fancy techy
things with the photo.
(Join in
if you dare...! It sounds like fun! I think this would be a lot of fun to do
with students especially since they would be expected to write 150 words or
less!)
The Magic Mansion
The
children walked slowly to the door. The stranger told them if they visited the
mansion and talked to the person there, they would be able to get their wish
granted. Tomorrow something awful would happen if they didn’t do something and
they had to do something fast! When they approached the door, they saw the hand
and then looked at each other. As they stood there, the hand slowly turned the
knob and the door swung open. Inside the darkness, they saw a figure standing
in the shadows. They gulped their fear down and started to lift their feet up
the rickety wooden steps. Did they dare go in and take the risk? They needed to
do something or their whole world would change. Join them as they risk all they
have in order to save their family.

Pat--Thanks for doing a blurb. You really made that a sinister, on-the-edge-of-your-seat story. I hope you enjoyed writing it. ;)
ACK, I don't know if my comment when through. Just wanted to say, if it doesn't pop up, that I enjoyed this blurb and I would totally buy the book!
