Back of the Book Blurb #62 (Part 2) Challenge

(I don’t know how I got my numbers out of sync so I’m going to call this one Part 2. Thanks for your understanding.)

From Sioux's PageSioux offers this challenge.

She posts a picture and you need to imagine it as a graphic for a book. You choose the genre and book title, and then write a blurb that might appear on the back of the book.

The blurb should be 150 words or less (not including the title). The genre is wide-open.
Each blogger should include their blurb on their own blog, and link back to this post. Have fun with it. Go to the other posts and comment on the other blurbs.  You can do fancy techy things with the photo.

(Join in if you dare...! It sounds like fun! I think this would be a lot of fun to do with students especially since they would be expected to write 150 words or less!)
The Gunslinger and the Bird

The gunslinger walked into the Deadwood Gulch saloon and gazed around the room. He saw a poker game going on in the corner and some ranchers in the corner enjoying the ladies’ attentions. Then his eyes landed on the singer in the other corner of the room. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen and he couldn’t stop staring.

Ma Gert, the saloon owner, saw him when he entered and watched him with her steely eyes. Then she walked up to him and said to him quietly, “You stay away from my little bird. She arrived last week and gives my place some class! ”

The gunslinger looked at Ma Gert and said, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

No one did anything in this town without Ma Gert knowing about it. She knew that look his eye and knew there would be trouble. (149 words)

She DOES look like a saloon owner. Let's hope Ma Gert (and the dogs) all keep their eyes on that ne'er-do-well. Or that the poker players take a dislike to him, and sing like a canary if he tries something.
