Sometimes I even feel a little intimidated and I'm not sure when to ask a question at a meeting. It helps me to write it down so I don't forget and then I don't spend the time trying to remember the question that I don't hear what is going on around me.loonyhikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05378360383088143368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5472287208924187505.post-55891188863629388672009-09-10T15:26:12.959-04:002009-09-10T15:26:12.959-04:00Asking the right question is important - asking it...Asking the right question is important - asking it at the right time is also important - and I love the idea of writing down questions for the end or having a regular question slot every few minutes as a break from listening.Peter Fogartyhttp://www.best-online-schools.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5472287208924187505.post-80398362969960306822009-04-10T10:00:00.001-04:002009-04-10T10:00:00.001-04:00Pass the CBEST test: Glad you found this helpful. ...Pass the CBEST test: Glad you found this helpful. Most class environments are not set-up to encourage risk and mistakes. There is a lack of trust. Students have been told for years not to be wrong. Asking a question is admitting that you do not know an answer. It's the opposite of what is taught.Paul Bogushhttp://blogush.edublogs.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5472287208924187505.post-9992050519968347402009-04-02T14:09:00.000-04:002009-04-02T14:09:00.000-04:00Pat - great post. What I have found most interesting is that even our youngest students - the ones who come in bursting to ask WHY- struggle practicing "question- asking". <BR/><BR/>As you stated -it really does take focus, practice, and sustained attention to become a "better- question-asker."<BR/><BR/>Thank you so much for sharing withAngela Maiershttp://www.angelamaiers.comnoreply@blogger.com
